Warehouse robotics company Locus Robotics introduced an advancement in its autonomous robotics navigation software to enable multi-robot warehouse fulfillment for retailers and third-party logistics service providers (3PLs). The Locus Robotics Advanced Navigation (LRAN) software streamlines the process of having multiple robots operate in a coordinated fashion in a warehouse environment, Locus CEO Rick Faulk said in a release.
Locus also announced an addition to the eight customer deployments it currently has under way in North America. In the next two months, contract logistics service provider DHL Supply Chain will begin a pilot test of LocusBots within its Tennessee-based warehouse for a customer in the life sciences sector, using the robots as picker companions for piece-picking order fulfillment.
