Honeywell Sensing and Productivity Solutions displayed its connected worker technology suite of solutions for voice-directed work, designed both for indoor DC applications such as forklifts, stocking, packing, and cycle counting, and for jobs beyond the warehouse, including maintenance and inspection, pickup and delivery, and retail. The solution includes a wearable ring scanner that is worn on a warehouse worker's finger and can be linked to an arm-mounted display screen and a voice-command headset, if desired. Combining scanning, display, and voice allows users to perform fast, safe, and accurate picking, said Bruce Stubbs, Honeywell's director of supply chain marketing.
Honeywell is also promoting a new line of controls and sensors to manage diverse areas around the warehouse, using an Internet of Things (IoT) design to control variables such as overhead doors, conveyor belts, eyewash stations, forklifts, boiler and process controls, shrink-wrap machines, packing, and receiving.
