Promising to save time and money for logistics users, SI Systems announced at ProMat today that its VWare software suite is flexible enough to "wrap around" its clients' existing material handling processes without requiring expensive redesigns.
Every warehouse has a unique combination of practices, processes and systems, so managers may be daunted by the prospect of buying a custom-tailored suite encompassing a warehouse execution system (WES), warehouse management system (WMS) and warehouse control system (WCS).
SI Systems tackles this challenge by assigning its professionals to observe a facility and then configure its VWare applications to integrate with a wide range of existing manual and automated material handling activities and devices, said Ed Romaine, vice president for sales and marketing. The result is a solution that helps to reduce inventory and labor costs while improving order fulfillment accuracy, all without incurring custom coding, reprogramming or retraining.
The company also showed off its Mobile-Matic portable, high-speed order fulfillment A-frame, designed to solve problems for organizations with spikes in demand for fast-moving SKUs. Users in industries such as pharmaceuticals or cosmetics can simply wheel the Mobile-Matric up to a conveyor, hook up the power and communications, and fire up its zero-labor picking capability, Romaine said.
