Material handling provider Interroll said today that it plans to expand its Thailand production facility in response to rising demand from Southeast Asia for material flow solutions.
Interroll Thailand will move to a new location within the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, about 35 miles from Bangkok, allowing it to produce a larger range of products such as conveyors, drives, and sorters in proximity to its target markets, the company said.
Construction on the new location will start in the first quarter of 2018 and is scheduled to finish by the second quarter of 2019, Interroll said.
When completed, the new facility will offer a shop floor of around 52,000 square feet and a 7,500-square-foot office space, allowing the company to significantly increase production, Grisorn Nakapong, managing director of Interroll Thailand, said in a statement.
"Growth markets in Southeast Asia—especially Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Myanmar—are showing a good demand for our products. For our customers and end users, the move means upgraded services and faster delivery times," Nakapong said.
