C.R. England, Logistics Labs ink e-pricing venture

Supply chain software firm Logistical Labs LLC and refrigerated transport provider C.R. England Inc. said today they have launched a service under which England's customers can book shipments through its "TempStack" intermodal network using Logistical Labs' "LoadDex" platform.

Using LoadDex, TempStack customers can get instant access to intermodal rates without requesting quotes via phone or e-mail, according to Chicago-based Logistical Labs.

Salt Lake City-based England touts TempStack as the largest temperature-controlled intermodal service of its kind. It offers substantial savings over truckload services, and provides more capacity options when truckload capacity gets tight, according to the companies.

"With the ability to compare our TempStack rail options alongside refrigerated truckload and LTL options, intermodal conversion is simplified," Ricky Stover, England's vice president of sales, said in a statement.
