Be the king (or queen) of rock

March 20, 2017

If you're an alert reader, you may have noticed that each print issue of DC Velocity includes at least one headline that refers to a rock, pop, or soul song. It's a monthly game readers can play to try to spot the reference.

Starting with the March issue, we're turning it into a contest, with prizes. Leaf through the issue in print, scroll through on our mobile app, or click around online. If you think you've found a reference to a song title or lyrics, email us at dcvrocks@dcvelocity.com with the answer by midnight Pacific time on March 31. Include your mailing address with your answer.

We'll select a winner at random from the among correct entries. The winner will receive a 12-ounce bag of coffee from Joey Kramer's Rockin' & Roastin' Cafe, owned by the drummer of classic rock band Aerosmith, and located in DC Velocity's headquarters city of North Attleboro, Mass. The winner will also have his or her name announced on social media and in print in the "Inbound" section of the magazine.

We encourage winners to share selfies with their prizes at Facebook.com/DCVelocity and on Twitter (tag us @DCVelocity).

If you noticed that this story references a Run-DMC song, you get (purely hypothetical) extra bonus points.
