DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight forwarding arm of Deutsche Post DHL Group, today unveiled an app it said will allow customers in the healthcare and life-sciences industries to track cold-chain shipments, monitor temperature changes, and contact 24-hour support staff.
Called "LifeTrack," the app will serve as a gateway to DHL's proprietary online cold-chain tracking and management platform of the same name, according to the Miami-based forwarding concern.
Users who download the program from the iOS or Android app stores will gain improved visibility over freight in transit, according to DHL Global Forwarding. Customers can access the app with their standard web-browser credentials, the company said.
The product follows the launches of other supply chain visibility apps from the company, including "DHL ActiveTracing," which tracks and traces road groupage shipments, and the "Cargo Mobile Tracking" app, which traces air and sea freight shipments.
