Reflecting its rapid growth, particularly with respect to its evolving digital strategy, AGiLE Business Media has announced several changes in staffing for its industry-leading publications, DC Velocity and CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly.

In announcing the changes, Editorial Director Peter Bradley said, "Over the past few years, we have been aggressively developing and implementing a strategy to ensure that we are offering our readers and viewers in-depth information in a variety of electronic formats, while at the same time fully supporting our very successful print publications. As part of that strategy, we are promoting some of our able and experienced staff and bring aboard a new editor with expertise in digital media as well as the areas we cover."

Bradley announced three recent promotions. David Maloney was named chief editor of DC Velocity. Maloney, who had previously served as senior editor of special products & e-content, will have overall responsibility for the daily operations of the magazine and digital content, including staff management. He will continue to oversee video projects and webcasts for both brands, including serving as producer of Move It!, AGiLE's online video program. Karen Bachrach, who had served as executive editor of DC Velocity since its launch in January 2003, was promoted to executive editor-features. She will oversee development of features and long-form journalism as well as print operations for DC Velocity. Senior Editor Mark B. Solomon was promoted to executive editor-news. In that role, he will have responsibility for development of daily news content for DC Velocity's digital products and for news analysis that appears in the print magazine. He will continue to manage relations with the industry experts who serve as DC Velocity's bloggers. Those promotions follow the elevation of Toby Gooley earlier this year to editor of CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly, where she had previously served as managing editor.

In addition to those promotions, Bradley announced the hiring of Martha Spizziri as managing editor-digital. Spizziri, who previously worked at Logistics Management and Modern Materials Handling magazines, has long experience in developing and managing Web-based products. "We are delighted that Martha agreed to join us," Bradley said. "She adds enormous strength to our team as we continue to advance our digital products in order to offer our readers and viewers timely and useful business information in whatever way they want to receive it.

"She joins what I think is the strongest journalistic team anywhere covering supply chain, logistics, and material handling. We are indeed fortunate to have editors deep in experience in those fields who also bring consummate skills to bear on our evolving digital strategy."

DC Velocity, established in 2003, is the market's first comprehensive logistics media brand, covering the full spectrum of the logistics market, including transportation, material handling, and enabling technologies. CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly, published by Supply Chain Media LLC, a joint venture of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and AGiLE Business Media, is a journal of thought leadership for the supply chain management profession.
