OIA Global, a worldwide transportation, supply chain management, and packaging solutions provider, said today it has acquired U.S. Worldwide Logistics Inc., a Kentucky-based provider of domestic and international freight forwarding and warehousing and distribution services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
In a statement, Charlie Hornecker, CEO of Portland, Ore.-based OIA Global, said the transaction "confirms our commitment to continue building our U.S. client base, particularly in the Cincinnati–Northern Kentucky metropolitan area." OIA plans to pursue similar acquisition opportunities that fit its network and its expansion plans, Hornecker said.
U.S. Worldwide Logistics was founded in 1991 by Pam Stapleton, who serves as the company's CEO. She was joined by her husband, Steve, in 1996. The Stapletons will remain with OIA after the transaction.
"This new partnership will put us in a solid position to meet the growing needs of our customers as well as enlisting a dual commitment to provide advanced supply chain solutions and superior customer service to our clients globally," Pam Stapleton said in a statement.
U.S. Worldwide Logistics operates a 120,000-square-foot facility near the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
