Dr. Thomas W. Speh, one of the most widely recognized experts in the warehousing field, has added another award to his considerable collection. The Rees Distinguished Professor of Distribution at the Farmer School of Business of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, was awarded a lifetime membership to the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC). Speh was honored at WERC's annual educational conference in Chicago last month.
Speh has long been a familiar face at WERC's events. The educator, who began his affiliation with the group 30 years ago, is a past president of the national organization and was an officer of his local chapter. He has also contributed to the group's research efforts and is a frequent speaker and instructor at conferences and seminars sponsored by WERC and other logistics and supply chain organizations.
He is a founder of the Warehouse Research Center at Miami University and was its director for 14 years. A prolific author, Speh has published some 50 articles in magazines and academic journals. His textbooks on marketing are used at colleges and universities nationwide.
