You don't have to be St. Peter to hold the keys to the kingdom—not if that kingdom is a best-in-class distribution center. But you do have to know what those keys are. Keogh Consulting has put together a series of educational seminars to help participants identify the keys to running a successful distribution operation.

The consulting firm has teamed up with executives from material handling and supply chain technology companies to develop its 2008 Nationwide Seminar Series. The one- and two-day courses in the series will be offered in major cities throughout the United States—from Orlando to Memphis to Los Angeles. The seminars will focus on topics such as operational excellence, integration, automation, and the "lean and green" supply chain.

On the docket for this summer is a seminar called "Keys to DC Operations and WMS Success," which will help distribution professionals identify the right material handling/storage equipment, technology, and layout for their facilities. The course will be held on July 17 in Orlando, Fla., with FKI Logistex, and on Aug. 15 in Minneapolis with Bastian Material Handling and HighJump Software. Keogh Consulting will offer the course again on Nov. 6-7 in Los Angeles in partnership with Bastian Material Handling and ASAP Automation; the Los Angeles event includes a facility tour.
