It's unlikely to have a gridiron team anytime soon, but the Supply-Chain Council's newly launched Supply-Chain Council University does offer managers new opportunities for advanced education. Through the university, the council will offer six new courses, which it plans to administer worldwide over the next 18 months. It's also working to roll out a certification program for supply chain professionals.

The six new courses went through pilot testing late last year and are now open for general enrollment. The courses, which will provide education on driving business value through the use of the organization's Supply-Chain Council Reference Models, include:

  • SCOR 8.0 Framework, a revised introduction to the concepts of supply chain design, measurement and management from a SCOR perspective, from metrics benchmarking to translation of strategy into operations.
  • SCOR 8.0 Implementation, a new course focused on detailed execution of a top-down, SCOR-based supply chain strategic transformation program.
  • SCOR Team Building in Your Organization, a new course that helps enterprises transition from a SCOR project implementation focus to a broad program expansion through a detailed six-phase plan for developing team goals, operations and recruiting.
  • Converging SCOR With Six Sigma/Lean Workshop, which provides practical steps for operating SCOR organizations to follow as they work to combine the best elements of the industry-standard methods.
  • DCOR 1.0 Framework Workshop, a new workshop launched to instruct design and supply chain teams together in the use of DCOR (Design Chain Operations Reference model) for transformation of product- and service-design processes for improved business performance.
  • SCOR and Performance Based Logistics (PBL) Workshop, a new offering that provides a blueprint for the development of large-scale logistics contracts organized around performance goals.

Lessons from CSCMP’s Annual Report Card for Shippers and Carriers

DCV-TV 4: Viewer Contributed
Recently, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) released their 33rd Annual State of Logistics Report which is created by AT Kearny. I've viewed this as basically a "Report Card" for shippers and carriers since it offers a comprehensive view of what they both have dealt with in the past year,...
