MercuryGate opens U.K. office to serve EMEA markets
CEO Juliano names former IQNavigator colleague to lead new division.
Logistics technology provider MercuryGate International Inc. is expanding its market overseas, announcing today that it would offer its transportation management system (TMS) software to customers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Cary, N.C.-based MercuryGate named industry veteran Simon Fahie as managing director of the new operation, saying he will be located in the United Kingdom and report to MercuryGate President and CEO Joe Juliano.
"MercuryGate customers conduct business all over the world, leveraging our platform in 126 countries," Juliano said in a release. "Their success depends on our ability to operate alongside their enterprise. Starting with a presence in EMEA was a natural fit because not only does a large percentage of our current customer base operate there, we see robust interest in the number of customers approaching us for their EMEA-based operations."
Fahie has worked more than 20 years in supply chain organizations including businesses in EMEA, Asia Pacific, and North America. He also restructured and grew the European-based team for IQNavigator, the workforce management software vendor where Juliano was president and CEO before taking the reins at MercuryGate. IQNavigator was eventually merged with vendor management system (VMS) provider Beeline after both firms were acquired by private equity firm GTCR.
Juliano was named to the top role at MercuryGate in 2018 when private equity firm Summit Partners acquired the software firm. Since that move, MercuryGate has acquired freight claims management software vendor TranSolutions Inc. in July and integrated its TMS platform with digital freight brokerage Uber Freight in August.
