Bright Light Partners, the holding company for drayage and logistics companies RoadOne IntermodaLogistics and Quality Logistics Services, said today it has acquired drayage and logistics firms First Coast and Mile High Logistics, affiliated firms based in Jacksonville. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
First Coast and Mile High are strongest in the southeast U.S., though it has agency terminals on the East Coast, the mid-Atlantic and Gulf Coast. Harold 'Buddy' Bowser Jr., which runs the affiliated firms, will join RoadOne, the company said.
First Coast and Mile High will benefit from RoadOne's fuel, truck, and insurance purchasing capabilities, national warehousing and depot services, and its IT platform, Randolph, Mass.-based RoadOne said in a statement.
"Over the last few years we've implemented a three-prong growth strategy consisting of organic and agent growth and acquisitions to expand our national intermodal network," said Kendall Kellaway III, vice president, commercial strategy at RoadOne, in the statement. "We're pleased to provide increased capacity and comprehensive intermodal logistics solutions to meet the pressing needs of today's supply chains."
