Toyota Industries acquires Peach State Integrated Technologies
Forklift leader to run consultancy as unit of Bastian Solutions division. Move beefs up Toyota's North American e-commerce capabilities.
Global forklift sales leader Toyota Industries Corp. (TICO) said today it acquired the supply chain consulting and engineering firm Peach State Integrated Technologies, extending Toyota's strategy to increase its presence in automated material handling and offer a single source of supply chain solutions for the hot e-commerce and omnichannel fulfillment markets.
Toyota made the acquisition through Bastian Solutions, the systems integration firm that is an operating subsidiary of Toyota Advanced Logistics North America (TALNA). Toyota created TALNA in 2017 after buying Bastian as the cornerstone of its plan to sell integrated automation and productivity solutions to North American material handling and logistics markets.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Buying Atlanta-based Peach State allows TALNA to offer clients an expanded network of services and access to supply chain professionals, Bastian Solutions President Aaron Jones said in a statement. "Peach State will greatly assist in our growth strategy, provide immediate strength to our company and ultimately help us better serve our customers across a broad spectrum of industries," Jones said.
Jones will become president of Peach State Integrated Technologies while remaining in his role as president at Bastian Solutions. Former Peach State President Jim Bowes will transition to a senior role at Bastian Solutions.
In turn, Peach State will become a TALNA company, functioning as a subsidiary of Bastian Solutions.
Acquiring Peach State adds complementary competencies to Bastian's business, and broadens the range of consulting services it offers for distribution and manufacturing operations, TALNA President and CEO Michael Romano said in a statement.
