Forming the right guanxi, or relationships, is essential to the success of any business venture in China. But what do you do if you haven't established those relationships yet? A new seminar from the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, "Doing Business in China: Effective Supply Chain Management," might point you in the right direction.
Taught by industry and regional experts, this course will focus on how to find and assess outsourcing opportunities in China and explain the cultural and business expectations. Participants will learn strategies for managing their supply chains to and/or from key China markets as well as techniques for managing supply chain security. Ultimately, the course promises to "remove the mystique of managing China-related supply chains and other strategic relationships."
This interactive workshop, which takes place Nov. 8-9 in Newark, N.J., is appropriate both for those already doing business in China and those still in the planning stages. For more information, visit cscmp.org.
