To achieve a successful warehousing operation, you need to coax stellar performance from all three of your basic resources: space, equipment, and labor. In "Achieving Warehouse Success: A Guide to Managing an Effective Operation," Thomas L. Tanel of CATTAN Services Group will present a methodology for planning, managing, and controlling your warehouse operations.
Participants will learn how to lay out their warehouses to maximize space utilization, material handling compatibility, and flow efficiency. Tanel will also demonstrate how to determine which types of storage, handling, and order picking equipment and technology are best suited to a particular operation. Finally, the course will address why leadership and communication skills are important to managing people, boosting morale, and solving labor/management conflicts.
This seminar, which is offered by the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC), will run from June 27 to 29 in Chicago. It is geared toward newly appointed supervisors and managers as well as those looking to refresh or build up their skills. For more information, visit www.werc.org.
