Companies hoping to crack the Chinese market have some difficult decisions to make first. One of them is where to situate the warehouses they'll need to reach 1.3 billion people scattered across 3.7 million square miles in the shortest possible time. To shed some light on the matter, Chicago Consulting recently released its list of the "10 Best Chinese Warehouse Networks." The list identifies the best city for a one-warehouse network (Xinyang), the best cities for a two-warehouse network (Lianyuan and Feicheng), and so on.
Chicago Consulting analysts ran demographic and census data through the firm's proprietary software to find the best combination of cities to include in the networks. They based their recommendations on the lowest possible lead times to the country's total population.
