The University of Tennessee's Center for Executive Education will offer a pair of supply chain courses back to back next month. "Supply Chain Resource Management," scheduled for Nov. 14-16, is followed by "Integrative Supply Chain Experience" on Nov. 16-18. The classes are the final two courses in the six-course sequence that makes up the school's Integrated Supply Chain Management Certification Program, but prospective students shouldn't let that deter them. The courses may be taken in any sequence.
"Supply Chain Resource Management" uses software developed by University of Tennessee faculty to teach participants how to measure the impact of supply chain changes on company value. Students will build a model to explain the value of their own companies or business units, given their current operating characteristics, and then evaluate potential changes in the supply chain, measuring the impact on value versus the cost of the change.
"Integrative Supply Chain Experience" will illustrate the supply chain planning and execution cycle. The planning cycle will begin with demand, capacity and supplier integration. The execution cycle will be illustrated with the order management, manufacturing execution, distribution channel integration, and supplier integration phases.
