The 1861 handheld RFID reader from CipherLab provides users with extended RFID reading and writing capabilities via most Bluetooth mobile devices. The 1861 device can read ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID tags at a distance of up to 3 feet (1 meter) and can write data up to 1.6 feet (0.5 meter) away. This capability makes it much easier to scan tags on products as pallets are moved through a dock door or scan cases on a high shelf in a warehouse, according to CipherLab.
The design of the 1861 handheld also takes into consideration the fact that, for many users, RFID technology has become a complementary solution to barcode labeling. The CipherLab 9600series, CP50 series, or other mobile computers can snap onto a custom mount attached to the CipherLab 1861 handheld RFID reader, which allows users to integrate barcode capture and RFID data collection into one device.
The 1861 handheld RFID reader is also durable. It is certified with IP64 rating and can withstand 1,000 tumbles at 3 feet (1 meter). It also sustains multiple drops on concrete from 5 feet (1.5 meters).
The 1861 handheld RFID reader can be configured through PC, Windows mobile computers, CipherLab terminals, and a .NET SDK for user development.
