Bad times? Make the most of it
By DC Velocity Staff
One of the themes to emerge from ProMat is the search for opportunity in bad economic times. That search was the centerpiece of a Webcast conducted by DC Velocity and moderated by Editorial Director Peter Bradley on the first morning of the show. Rick Blasgen, president and CEO of the Council of Supply Chain Professionals; Michael Mikitka, executive director of the Warehousing Education and Research Council; and John White, executive vice president of Fortna (the Webcast sponsor) each shared their thoughts on where to focus energy. In summary, they called for judicious rather than wholesale cost cutting, protection of key personnel, and strong communication. Look for the Webcast on the DC Velocity Web site early next month.
