Lift trucks should last up to 10 years

By DC Velocity Staff

Although each lift truck situation is unique, the life span of an industrial truck should range from a few years to as long as 10 years, said David R. Matthews, manager of fleet processes and customer care at NACCO Materials Handling Group Inc. Matthews made his comments during a press conference at the NA2010 Material Handling and Logistics Show.

Matthews is involved in the Yale Fleet Management Program, which helps determine the optimum economic life replacement for a lift truck. The duty cycle and operating conditions will affect the life of a truck, he said.
