TECSYS WMS helps workers better visualize tasks

By DC Velocity Staff

TECSYS has redesigned its warehouse management system (WMS) to deliver images and visual instructions as well as text to handheld devices that are used on the warehouse floor.

Examples of the types of images that the system now offers include:

  • a picture of the product to be picked
  • a picture of the label, with the bar code that the operator must scan circled
  • a diagram showing where the product is located on the shelf or which box on the pick cart to place it in
  • a five-second video showing the correct procedure for packing the product

The new system is currently deployed at three facilities, where it has improved pick times and increased order accuracy, TECSYS executives said.
