Automated storage and retrieval systems manufacturer Kardex Remstar launched a new remote support platform and displayed its new LR 35 vertical buffer module during Modex 2018.
The remote support platform continuously monitors the status of installed systems and remotely maintains them when necessary, saving customers time and money by reducing the need for on-site service calls. The platform features remote assistance, which manages diagnostics—allowing simple maintenance requests to be handled remotely instead of onsite—as well as analytics, which gives users access to machine data anywhere via a Web browser.
The LR 35 is a bin-handling solution ideal for companies involved in handling single-part or small-volume orders. The unit consists of a shelf system with automatic bin handling, picking stations, and its own logistics software. The LR 35 operates on a "goods to person" principle, bringing totes of small items directly to the operator with minimal wait time.
Kardex Remstar also unveiled new features of its Shuttle XP vertical lift module, including the integration of pick-to-light and put-to-light technology. The Shuttle XP can now be equipped with a light technology called Access Ready, which helps operators visualize when the tray is in the access opening and ready for picking or putting, helping to improve picking productivity.
