Kion North America Corp., a subsidiary of Germany's Kion Group, is moving ahead with plans to offer a complete lineup of lift trucks for a wide array of applications under the Linde brand that have been specifically designed and priced for North America. As part of that initiative, the company is expanding its dealer network and introducing a number of new models this year and in 2017. At Modex, the company unveiled two new models. The Series 1169 walkie straddle truck, in 2,000-pound, 2,500-pound, and 3,000-pound capacities, features a sealed 24-volt AC motor, integral hydraulic power, and a high-visibility mast. The Series 1276 sit-down electric counterbalanced truck comes in 5,000- to 7,000-pound capacities. It provides excellent visibility thanks to narrow but deep mast rails, and its dual-drive motor allows for fast travel speeds and acceleration. Linde is known as a premium brand with long life, durability, and low maintenance requirements compared to other brands. Currently, its most popular trucks in North America are used in heavy-duty applications, including forest products and foundries.
Kion also offers the Baoli line of forklifts and pallet trucks, Egemin's automated guided vehicles and autonomous lift trucks, and the Still brand of tow tractors and pallet jacks.
