Supply chain software company Tecsys said today it has launched a "visual-on-voice" system that combines the two technologies to improve the accuracy of order fulfillment.
With the system, workers can access critical fulfillment data to make quicker decisions and accelerate their workflows without the use of hands, Tecsys said. They are also presented with product-specific images to allow for a visual validation and to ensure that the appropriate quality-assurance checks are performed, Tecsys said. Voice technology drives momentum for continuous picker productivity, while visuals ensure clarity, accuracy, and quality in the distribution process, Tecsys said.
Combined, the two technologies are boosting accuracy to more than 99 percent for a number of customers, Montreal-based Tecsys said.
In a related development, Tecsys today introduced what it said was the industry's first executive "dashboard" for full-cycle warehouse management analytics with embedded metrics. The dashboard benchmarks customers' operations to their competitors, and identifies areas where companies can optimize their distribution and customer service operations, Tecsys said.
The dashboard's four metrics cover customer service, operations, inbound and outbound services, and capacity and quality.
