Intermec and Vocollect continue integration
By DC Velocity Staff
It has been just a little under a year since Intermec acquired voice technology firm Vocollect. MODEX represents the first material handling show that has provided the opportunity to display how Vocollect voice products are now being integrated throughout the Intermec product line. Everything from large format mounted computers down to small handhelds and dedicated systems are now capable of operating voice.
Among the new offerings from Intermec is a CV-41 mid-sized vehicle-mounted computer. It too is voice-ready, and since it is designed for vehicle-based operations, it extends voice from its traditional role of picking to directing forklift duties, such as putaway and replenishment. The rugged CV-41 offers an 8-inch display, easy readability, and a docking system for easy mounting and removal. The unit operates on Windows CE.
