Dutch firm Ravas acquires weighing system vendor LTS Scale
Buying Ohio maker of forklift scales intended to further Ravas' international expansion plans, firm says.
The European weighing solution provider Ravas has acquired LTS Scale, a Twinsburg, Ohio-based vendor of scale systems, in a move to further develop its share of the U.S. market, the firms said today.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Ravas says it closed on Nov. 8 and that the LTS Scale brand name will remain active, together with its new sister divisions, Ravas Europe and Ravas USA LLC.
Netherlands-based Ravas makes mobile weighing solutions that are integrated into hand pallet trucks, warehouse trucks, and forklift trucks. Those systems allow users to weigh and measure loads during transport, optimizing work flows and production processes, Ravas says.
Buying LTS adds that firm's capacity of manufacturing high-precision fork lift scales and fits into Ravas' stated ambition of global expansion, the company said.
"Recently, we have redefined our mission, vision, and worldwide business strategy. We consider the U.S. to be one of the main growing markets in our mobile weighing sector," Ravas CEO Niels van den Berg said in a release. "The combination of the LTS product range, with more NTEP certified scales, and a professional sales and service organization will enable us to further expand our market share in the US. We strongly believe that LTS is the right partner to support us in achieving our US based business goals."
