Rhenus acquires Freight Logistics

Global logistics provider expands in the Americas with purchase of Miami-based freight forwarder.

Global logistics company The Rhenus Group has acquired Miami-based freight forwarder and logistics solutions provider Freight Logistics Group, the companies said today.

Holzwickede, Germany-based Rhenus said the acquisition strengthens its Rhenus Air & Ocean business in the Americas, giving it a new gateway in Miami. Freight Logistics specializes in supply-chain solutions, international transportation (air and ocean), customs brokerage, compliance, warehousing and distribution, the companies said.

The deal follows Rhenus' acquisition of Canadian logistics specialist Rodair, announced in March. Freight Logistics' management team and all employees in the region will remain with the company, Rhenus said.
