Transtex acquires TopKit, LeadEdge assets from Smart Truck
Deal expands company's line of aerodynamic products for commercial vehicles.
Transtex, LLC has acquired the TopKit and LeadEdge Top Fairing assets from Greenville, S.C.-based Smart Truck, the company said April 11.
Indianapolis-based Transtex makes fleet safety and aerodynamic hardware and software solutions for commercial vehicles. The addition of TopKit and LeadEdge complements its line of solutions that maximize fuel savings, the company said.
TopKit redirects air toward the rear of the trailer to reduce drag, and can be used on dry vans, refrigerated trailers and straight trucks that have swing or roll-up doors. LeadEdge improves the airflow between the truck and trailer or between two tandem trailers, the company said.
"[This] acquisition combines two respected industry innovators and will be beneficial to both fleet and trailer industry suppliers alike," Todd McGuire, vice president of sales for Transtex, said in a statement announcing the deal.
