Third-party logistics (3PL) provider Seko Logistics said it has expanded into Mexico with facilities in six cities.

In the first phase of a two-step expansion, Itasca, Ill.-based Seko will operate from locations in Laredo, Texas/Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; McAllen, Texas/Reynosa; and Mexico City; Monterrey; Toluca; and Queretaro, Mexico. Seko plans to add 14 locations over an undetermined time period, the company said. It did not disclose where the additional facilities will be located.

Seko said on Wednesday that it has opened a distribution center in Ocoyoacac, State of Mexico.

This is the first project under the direction of William J. Wascher, who stepped down last month as president and CEO to become chairman, where he will focus on the company's strategic initiatives. The company operates in 40 countries, including the United States, where it has 60 locations.
