Logistics services provider Pilot Freight Services said today it is offering ground delivery services from the U.S. to three airports in Mexico for distribution throughout the country.
East Coast freight will route through Dallas/Fort Worth and West Coast originating freight will move through Los Angeles, Lima, Pa.-based Pilot said. Service is available on weekdays at Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey, Pilot said.
Most U.S.-Mexico goods move on the ground rather than by air because it is cheaper and the goods move over relatively short distances, meaning that deliveries can still be made quickly.
Pilot said it can consolidate cargo from various stations across the U.S. to the closest of the two gateways, and then through Mexico to the final destination within the country.
