Telematics and logistics technology vendor Omnitracs LLC said today that freight broker and third-party logistics provider (3PL) C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. had committed to long-term use of Omnitracs' load-tracking visibility solution.
C.H. Robinson has been using Dallas-based Omnitracs' Virtual Load View (VLV) application since January 2017 in an effort to increase its overall efficiency. The 3PL will now increase the number of loads it tracks through VLV, collecting position data on every load in a web-based platform for analysis.
The Omnitracs VLV solution allows brokers, shippers, and carriers to track and manage their loads, either accessing the data through an online pOréal or integrating it directly into the company's back-office system.
Eden Prairie, Minn.-based C.H. Robinson cited the solution's ease of use and adaptability for its decision to integrate the software into its system alongside the company's own Navisphere shipment visibility app for its contract-carrier network, according to Tim Kurtzal, director of C.H. Robinson process and standards.
"C.H. Robinson customers expect to know where their freight is at all times," Jeff Champa, Omnitracs vice president of product management, said in a statement. "With Omnitracs Virtual Load View, C.H. Robinson is strengthening its commitment to providing in-depth insights, as well as visibility into load locations and delivery times."
