Honeywell International Inc. said today it has named one of its executives as president of Intelligrated Systems Inc. as part of a rebranding of the material handling systems integrator it acquired in a move to meet industry demand for e-commerce and home delivery services.
Honeywell said it had named company executive Pieter Krynauw as president of Honeywell Intelligrated, as the company will now be known, and promised a string of other steps to continue merging the firms' brands and businesses. Krynauw had previously served as vice president and general manager for Honeywell Process Solutions' Projects and Automation Solutions business, according to the Honeywell website.
Intelligrated co-founder Chris Cole will continue to advise the business. "Over the past year, we've carefully evaluated and are now pursuing several ways to leverage Honeywell's financial strength and process, recognized global brand, and leadership in adjacent markets to accelerate our original vision and continue to grow as a global leader in a dynamic, challenging market," Cole said in a statement.
The Mason, Ohio-based systems integration firm will remain in the Sensing and Productivity Solutions (S&PS) division of Honeywell's Automation and Control Solutions business.
As part of the continued integration, the parent company will provide Honeywell Intelligrated with expanded resources for research and development; a greater portfolio of connected solutions; and an expansion into Europe, Asia, and other high-growth regions, Honeywell said. Honeywell paid $1.5 billion to purchase Intelligrated in 2016, just two weeks after rival systems integrator Dematic Corp. was sold to Germany's Kion Group AG.
