Logistics software provider FourKites Inc. said today it has integrated its real-time freight tracking platform with a transportation management system (TMS) from supply chain software developer Manhattan Associates Inc. in a move to offer sharper shipment visibility to corporations practicing omnichannel operations.
Chicago-based FourKites said its freight visibility product will be available for both the cloud-based and on-premise versions of Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based Manhattan's Transportation Planning and Execution tool, allowing Manhattan customers to access FourKites' tracking data directly through the Manhattan interface.
The integration offers users access to real-time estimated times of arrival (ETAs), based on 15-minute location updates for tractors, trailers, and containers generated by global positioning system (GPS) devices and electronic logging devices (ELDs), FourKites said.
"Visibility is a critical component of successful transportation operations. Manhattan's partnership with FourKites gives our customers effortless and inexpensive access to the critical, real-time shipment status information that improves customer service levels," Gregg Lanyard, director of product management for Manhattan Associates, said in a statement.
The announcement is the latest integration for FourKites, which has also partnered this year with TMS platforms from HaulFox LLC, BluJay Solutions, and JDA Software Group Inc.
