R2 Logistics releases transportation management system

TMS platform unites supply chain information stored in different locations, firm says.

Third-party logistics service provider (3PL) R2 Logistics Inc. has released a transportation management system (TMS) software platform that offers a a web-based user interface that can help manufacturers manage their planning and shipment execution, the company said Wednesday.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based R2 Logistics said its TMS platform will let customers keep pace with growing demand, track all supply chain operations online, and use automated operational function, including real-time visibility into order and workflow status. The platform features load tendering; order management; tracking and status updates; shipping optimization and dynamic routing; and business intelligence, reporting and analytics, the company said.

"A lot of our customers have information stored in so many different areas," R2 Logistics' VP of Strategic Initiatives, Hunter Schwind, said in a statement. "Our system brings it together so they have a clear picture of their whole supply chain. Now they can make effective business decisions quickly."
