Shopify integrates with Shyp for outsourced fulfillment
Merchants can use app to order pickup, packing, and parcel shipping.
Fulfillment and shipping provider Shyp has announced an integration with Shopify, a cloud-based, multi-channel commerce platform used by major retailers such as Tesla Motors, Red Bull, and Nestle, the companies said Tuesday.
The partnership will allow merchants in San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles to outsource their fulfillment workflow and have Shyp perform all pickup, pack, and parcel-shipping tasks on their behalf.
Merchants and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that use Shopify's commerce software platform can connect their store to Shyp by downloading the Shyp app in the Shopify App Store or directly from Shyp's own site.
Once they activate the app, those merchants can integrate the two services and use a single click to request and schedule a pickup, and let Shyp know if they want packing included. Once orders are collected and packed, Shyp selects the shipping option indicated and sends parcels via USPS, FedEx, or UPS. Merchants automatically receive tracking information directly through their Shopify store.
"As an online retailer's business grows, the time required to quickly fulfill orders can be daunting," Shopify's global GM for shipping and fulfillment, Maia Benson, said in a release. "Merchants consistently ask us for a better way to do the job, one that is cost-effective and delivers a great consumer experience. Shyp's mobile app makes it easy for our merchants to get their orders picked up, professionally packaged, and shipped—all while ensuring the tracking data is easily accessible within each order."
