Parcel and document carrier DHL Express said today it will raise tariff rates 4.9 percent on all U.S. import and export shipments.
The increase takes effect Jan. 2, according to DHL, whose Americas operations are headquartered in Plantation, Fla.
The carrier serves more than 200 countries and territories, and is the market leader in a number of them. In January 2009, it ceased domestic U.S. service, and today serves the U.S. as an international origin and destination point.
