Third-party logistics service provider Saddle Creek Corp. will donate the services of one of its top IT executives to act as operations director for the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), it was announced June 22.
Kathy Fulton, Saddle Creek's senior manager of technical services, will join ALAN full-time next month in the newly created post. She will stay at ALAN for one year and will remain on Lakeland, Fla.-based Saddle Creek's payroll, according to ALAN. Founded in October 2005 following Hurricane Katrina, ALAN is a non-profit organization that connects the resources of the logistics community and disaster relief agencies needing supply chain support.
Fulton has done volunteer work for ALAN and was instrumental in developing the Web pOréal that provides the central point of contact between supply chain companies and non-governmental organizations assisting in humanitarian relief efforts.
At ALAN, Fulton will be responsible for strengthening ALAN's technology platform, refining many aspects of ALAN's operations, and helping to build awareness of the organization, ALAN said in a statement.
