The supply chain at the crossroads

For those willing to fly to the ends of the earth (or at least to Europe) for a chance to hear from a lineup of heavy-hitters, there's the "Crossroads 2007: Supply Chain Innovation Summit," which takes place in Zaragoza, Spain, next month. Sponsored by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Transportation and Logistics and the Zaragoza Logistics Center in Spain, the summit is scheduled for March 21-22.

This event is intended to bring together global leaders in business, academia and government to discuss the innovative strategies, processes and technologies being used to successfully manage increasingly complex supply chains and examine the impact of these advances on business and consumers.

The keynote speaker is Professor Susan Hochfield, president of MIT. Other featured speakers include Robert A. Willett, CIO, Best Buy and CEO, Best Buy International; LaVerne H. Council, CIO, Johnson & Johnson; Robert W. Moffat, senior vice president, Integrated Supply Chain, IBM; and Diego del Alcázar, president, Instituto de Empresa.

The Supply Chain Innovation Summit is part of the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program, a research and education partnership established in 2003.
